On July 20, 2012 at 14.30 I had my PhD viva voce.  Despite nerves, I enjoyed it immensely. You can read a bit more about my research and download my thesis here. 

April 8 - 12, 2013; I'm at the 47th IATEFL Annual Conference and Exhibition, being held in Liverpool. I am speaking on a forum called Principles, parameters and practicalities of early years language education.  My short talk is entitled: Principles of early years childhood education and VYLs. Other speakers on the panel are Carol Read and Sophie Ioannou-Georgiou. 

September 13 - 15, 2013; I'm speaking at the Picturebook Conference, Text, image, ideology - picturebooks as meeting places, at Stockholm University.  I'm giving a talk about the Portuguese picturebook illustrator and designer called: The fluidly integrated practice of hand lettering in the work of Bernardo Carvalho.  It's going to be a great event and looking forward to it enormously.
