This course features a bear called Buddy and his two twin owners, Ben and Becky.  Ben, Becky and their teddy Buddy, live in the real world, which is complimented by stories from the make believe world of Buddy and his three bear friends. The bears are inspired by endangered species: the South American spectacled bear, the polar bear and the panda. Buddy is a Grisly, who is slowly disappearing too.  It’s got great stories and some fabulous songs and chants.  The course is for 3 to 6 year olds in Mexico and was first published in January 2009.  My co-author was Fran Gamboa a lovely retired pre-school educator from Mexico.

This is a five level course, spanning from an optional pre-school book, Little Hoola, through the first cycle of Portuguese education, Hoola Hoop Primary 1 – 4.

The course  features a cat called Hoola and her family in Little Hoola.  Hoola continues in the primary levels with Hoola Hoop, where we meet  her two owners Daisy and Eddie and their friends.  It's a story based course with original songs and chants and is full of fun activities.  It follows the Portuguese first cycle 'Social Studies' course, which is an innovation here in Portugal.  My co-authors were Raquel Coelho, Cris Bento, Niki Joseph and Daniela Coelho.  The course was published in Summer 2009.

Hoola Hoop was nominated for the British Council 2010 ELTecs Award for Innovation.
